Peaceful retreat
Reviewed on 2024-07-20 by MaryI fell in love with the Cozy Bear Cottage! This rustic home sits on its own hillside away from the crowds and yet a short walk to the village. I enjoyed my evening walks in the secluded neighborhood and sitting on either deck to watch the antics of the chipmunks, squirrels and birds. One deck faces east and the other west so you can get sun or shade any time, depending on the season, and a short climb up the hillside rewards with views of the lake. The cottage is well-stocked with dishes and every cooking appliance needed for your stay. It even has game counsels for the littles. It was such a much needed restful stay in peaceful place.

Inside, you'll find two comfortable bedrooms, a wood-burning stove fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and inviting living space, making it a convenient home base for a couple, small family or group of friends.
Big Bear is right outside your door here. Start your morning with a walk to the lake or Pine Knot Avenue, spend the day exploring the Village, hiking nearby National Forest trails or heading up to the slopes, then return to the warmth of the fireplace for a cozy evening. When you want to stay in, gather around the TV, play a board game or card game, and enjoy a quiet dinner before settling in for the night.

The cozy living room features comfortable seating, a dining table, TV and a beautiful wood-burning stove fireplace that adds warmth and classic cabin character on chilly mountain evenings.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave, along with a blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans for preparing meals during your stay.
Smart TVs with streaming apps, fast WiFi, board games and card games provide additional entertainment. A stackable washer and dryer are also available for added convenience.
