What a view!
Reviewed on 2026-09-28 by MikeThis is our fifth or sixth stay at Dark Pine Resort and we love the comforts of this home and the view of nature through the sliding glass doors in the living room. Our dogs could watch the squirrels and jays for hours, as could we. We did find that prior occupants had not washed silverware and plates thoroughly, if at all, which was off putting at meal time. We were unable to watch several football games which was disappointing. Over Al we love the place and will definitely return.
We always enjoy Dark Pine Retreat
Reviewed on 2026-08-23 by MikeWe have stayed at Dark Pine Retreat 5 or 6 times and always enjoy our stay. It's very homey with plenty of wildlife visible through the sliding glass doors in the living room. Well furnished and already on our list for a return visit
Cute & Cozy
Reviewed on 2026-07-15 by JasonThis was a wonderful little place for my wife, myself, and our Boarder Collie. Cloe enough to pretty much everything we wanted to visit (downtown, Big Bear Zoo, Fawnskin, trails, etc.). The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and the fenced-in yard was perfect for when we would go outside with our dog for her to do her business. There is no A/C but the ceiling fan in the living area and the plug-in floor fans provided were enough for the un-seasonable heat this July. We will DEFINITELY be booking one of these properties (if not this exact one) in the future.
5 - Excellent
Reviewed on 2026-03-01 by Esther RochelThe whole entire process and experience was amazing. I felt the customer service was impeccable. The cabin had every amenity we needed. It was cozy and warm, and overall just a great cabin. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much.
Lots of wildlife
Reviewed on 2025-09-06 by MikeWe enjoyed our stay at this property, seeing birds, chipmunks and grey squirrels on the deck. The home is well appointed but both screen doors need repair. This home offers all you might need for convenience and we look forward to our next visit.
Great Find!
Reviewed on 2025-08-18 by JenniferIt was wonderful for my girlfriend and I and our dog to stay here, perfect yard for our Pup and for us. Quiet and peaceful, lots of sitting areas, the house was perfect for our couple day stay, all we needed including some games to play. We loved it! I hope to stay here again in the near future.
Holiday get away
Reviewed on 2024-12-01 by MikeThis is the second time we've stayed in this cabin, but our first time during chilly weather. We throughly enjoyed our stay during Thanksgiving week, even had a few fires in the fireplace to enhance the stay. I would encourage the owner to replace the shower faucet since it is so hard to use. This cabin is remote enough to be quiet, but close enough to the city to be convenient. We plan on returning to this cabin in 2025 and watching wildlife through the glass doors

Dark Pine Retreat
Reviewed on 2024-08-20 by HarmonyAs an avid big bear go-er we really enjoyed this home. It was Updated and cozy, we enjoyed the large fenced in yard with multiple decks and seating areas (including the secret hill deck). Was a private location with hiking just steps from the front door. Everything worked as should but when we did run into a small hiccup they were there to fix asap. Overall very charming, peaceful, private and the yard was great for our pup to explore in. Will be back! Thank you!

3 - Good
Reviewed on 2024-07-08 by GabrielaEverything was great about our air bnb, missing a few kitchen utensils and having no AC was a real bummer especially because of the hot weather. Fans were accessible, a little unclean when we arrived. Had to wipe down a lot of surfaces from spider webs. Trash disposal location was only a 10 min drive, and dropping off was easy. Only about a 10-12 min drive to nearest grocery stores and downtown village area.
